Managing Family and Time

I'm sure you have some type of freedom or break on the weekends. Even if its just for 20 minutes. With college being day to day for most or just Tuesdays and Thursdays life can be a bit hectic especially when professors assign a lot of assignments in that one week. Some of you also has jobs which might add on to the stress. I'm in the same boat, I love my job but school and work sometimes are a bit too much. Especially when family gets involved. My parents are always checking on me because I don't get to see them much since I'm just in and out of school and work,I basically just see them before I go to bed. Lately I've been getting to see them on the weekends a bit more but my school assignments have been getting in the way of spending time with them and vice versa so to say sometimes my family is pushy on for me to go and do some type of activity with them and I find myself not doing my assignments when I wanted to do them. I still get them done but its always ion a rush or on Sunday which is the day I wanna have off but I've learned that I don't really have a weekend anymore since I'm busy with school and work. When I thought about this I was a bit whiney and complained to myself a bit but then I thought about it and thought to myself that this is good. The semester and work is keeping me busy and has me doing more. I've learned to manage certain hours to certain activities with family and the others to work and school. Having a daily planner has helped me out and I encourage you all to get one if you find yourself struggling on managing your time!

New Semester Means New Essays

Today our first essay of my second semester of college was due. For many of my peers English and writing essays is extremely easy and I can agree with them in some ways except when it comes to essays. For me I tend to struggle on them. I worry too much about if everything in the paragraph is making sense and if its formatted and each paragraph contains what the teacher wants or the rubric. I sit and think about how long an essay should take and how good of an essay I should be able to write and what concrete details, examples, and ideas I can come up with to add to the essay. Ive always got feedback on my essays that I'm a bit blurry and certain sentences stated in my essay disconnect from the topic and what not. I've pretty much gotten bad feedback from some of my peers and teachers. This is when I started realizing that I put a bit too much thought into the essay and trying to make it sound extremely scholastic (not saying that's a bad thing to do). About a week ago my English professor assigned us and essay about a book were reading and we had to write an essay on it (the rough draft). It took me about an hour and a half to complete the essay because I wrote it out on a piece of paper first and got my ideas and jotted them down then I typed it up. I felt like I did a good or acceptable job on the essay but was waiting to see what my peers would say. We switched essays and did a peer edit and I actually got positive feedback today, although I'm positive there's something I could have done better or structured a certain paragraph out a different way I felt better and more confident about writing essays. I know I have A LOT to work on to make my essays way better and scholastic. I hope this semester I can improve my writing skills and become a better writer and not have to lack confidence in that area of my school work.

New semester

School has started again so that means long nights, early mornings, stress, and an overload on assignments. So far my semester has gone good but I've checked my syllabus for several classes and it seems like I'm going to be very busy these next two weeks. I try to manage my time and make sure that I use every hour that I can for school because I always feel as if I'm behind. This semester has consisted of many reading in ALL of my classes and a lot of homework which is only online. Luckily I haven't had a test yet in any of my classes yet but I am wondering or trying to strategize new ideas and forms of studying that will benefit me and hopefully let me pass the test or tests with more than a C. Although I am not taking any math classes I feel like studying might be a bit easier this semester than it was last semester since I wont be having to deal with formulas and numbers. I hope my semester turns out great and I hope yours does too!
